Unveiling "Narratives Across Borders": A Seven-Day Virtual Faculty Development Program by GTN Arts College

GTN Arts College (Autonomous), a beacon of learning and excellence, is proud to announce an enriching opportunity for faculty members: a Seven-Day National Level (Virtual Mode) Faculty Development Program titled "Narratives Across Borders: Multilingual and Multicultural Explorations." Organized by the PG and Research Centre of English in association with IQAC, this program promises to be a deeply insightful exploration into the vast landscape of narratives.

About the Program:

Scheduled to run from July 23, 2025, to July 29, 2025, each session will take place between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM IST, making it convenient for participants across different time zones. The program aims to delve into the nuances of multilingualism and multiculturalism as expressed through various forms of narratives, offering a comprehensive and diverse perspective.

  • July 23, 2025: Dr. T. David Jeyaraj Franklin will kick off the program with "Varied Cultures and Shared Past: The Native in the 20th Century."

  • July 24, 2025: Dr. D.E. Berret will explore "Multicultural Transcriptions and Textual Receptions: An Egalitarian Critique."

  • July 25, 2025: Dr. V. Nirmala will discuss "Crossing the Borders and Barriers: Women's Writings in India," followed by Dr. M. Moovendhan on "Cross-cultural Storytelling: Negotiating Identity in Multilingual Spaces."

  • July 26, 2025: Dr. M. Rajaram presents "A Panoramic Perspective of Transnational Feministic Narratives."

  • July 27, 2025: Dr. Sushma V Murthy will discuss "From Feuds to Elite Churing: Narrative Resistance to (Dis)unities in Subaltern Cultural Discourse."

  • July 28, 2025: Dr. M. Ashitha Varghese concludes the daily sessions with "Empirical Literary Studies - On the Logic of Empirics in Literary Readings and Research."
