"Nothing happens, nobody comes, nobody goes, it's awful!" — Join Us Anyway.

Are you tired of the "unreasonable silence of the universe"? Do you find yourself debating a piece of string while waiting for a director who never showed up? If the world feels like a "nightmare of being wide awake in a room with no doors," then we have the perfect place for you to spend your Tuesday.

St. Xavier's College, Burdwan (Department of English) is hosting a one-day seminar that promises to be the dramatic equivalent of $x=x$: a tautology that is both hilarious and horrifying.

The Event at a Glance

  • Theme: Theatre of the Absurd: Pretexts, Texts and Contexts

  • Date: 12th June, 2026

  • Venue: St. Xavier's College, Burdwan (Sripally Campus)

  • Featuring: Paper presentations, an exhibition, and live performance

  • The Prize: The Best 3 papers will be awarded!

Call for Papers: Step into the Void

We are looking for students (UG & PG) and early research scholars to explore the "geometry of the abyss." Whether you are interested in the "linguistic gymnastics of Ionesco" or the "post-digital isolation" of the 21st century, your voice (or your silence) is welcome.

Is Indian Culture the New Global Script? Join the National Seminar at JSHPG College!

Amroha, India – Literature lovers and scholars, it’s time to look beyond the Western canon. The Department of English Studies and Research at Jagdish Saran Hindu Postgraduate College (JSHPG), Amroha, is hosting a groundbreaking Two-Day National Seminar that promises to redefine how we see the intersection of heritage and the written word.
