A Five Day National Level Virtual FDP

 The Department of English,

Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli-2 is organizing "A Five Day National Level Virtual FDP" on the theme RECENT TRENDS IN LITERARY RESEARCH from 25 - 30 September 2023 from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.

 *ABOUT THE FDP*

Literature is a reflection of life. As times have changed, so has the style and subject matter of the literary artworks. Research is the systematic process of collection, analysis and interpretation of information. Literary creation and research have always been intertwined. Just as art has evolved, so has research and its varying methods. Research today has grown to encompass a wide range of disciplines including psychology, history, sociology, anthropology, economics, physical sciences, ecology, computer sciences, etc. just to name a few. Literary research has today become wholly multidisciplinary.

It has grown in response to changing academic interests, technological advancements, and cultural shifts. New arenas of study such as Digital Humanities, Memory Studies, Psychology, Health Humanities, Artificial Intelligence and Literature, Subaltern Studies, Environmental Humanities, Adaptation Studies, Cultural Studies, Posthumanism, Transcultural Studies, Neurohumanities, Queer Studies, Virtual Reality Narratives, Fan Studies etc. have emerged giving researchers a chance to delve deep into the multifaceted intricacies of literary writings.

 *OBJECTIVES OF THE FDP:*

1. To introduce learners to the wide gamut of literary research that is made possible through interdisciplinary study.

2. To help scholars recognise how literature intersects with contemporary issues, technologies and diverse voices.

3. To enable researchers to gain fresh perspectives by traversing boundaries of understanding which will inspire scholars to expand the horizons of literary study.
