The English Teachers Forum (ETF) Bharath, in collaboration with Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), Hyderabad, is proud to announce its Two-Day International Conference on the Use of Mass Media Cultures for English Language Teaching, Training, and Learning, scheduled for October 13–14, 2025.

This landmark event will bring together teachers, trainers, researchers, media practitioners, and policy makers to critically examine how mass media—from cinema and podcasts to memes, advertisements, and digital platforms—can transform English language teaching and learning.

In today’s digital era, media is not just a tool for communication but also a dynamic pedagogical resource. By engaging with authentic materials like news, films, podcasts, and social media, learners gain exposure to real-world vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and cultural contexts.

The conference will highlight how diverse media genres—from graffiti to OTT platforms—can help foster communicative fluency, intercultural awareness, and digital literacy, equipping learners for global citizenship.

Call for Papers

Researchers, teachers, and practitioners are invited to submit original papers under the following streams:

  • Mass Media Pedagogical Approaches – gamification, blended learning, mobile learning, AI in ELT.

  • Media Forms in Classrooms – newspapers, TV, podcasts, social media, advertising, VR/AR.

  • Teacher Education & Training – media literacy, critical awareness, cross-cultural practices.

  • Socio-Cultural & Discourse Dimensions – critical discourse analysis, intercultural communication, persuasive skills.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Abstract: 200–250 words

  • Full Paper: 3500–5000 words

  • Deadline for Abstract & Full Paper: October 10, 2025

  • Selected papers will be published in the inaugural issue of International Journal of Linguistics, ELT and Literatures.
