About the Institute:
Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) was established by the Chaitanya Bharathi Educational Society (CBES) in 1997 and since inception it has maintained good academic track record and stood among the top engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The primary objective of this society is to create temples of knowledge so as to impart value-based education to the present and future generations of our country. MGIT is permanently affiliated to JNTU, Hyderabad and accredited twice by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and IEI, NAAC A Grade and also recognized by UGC under 2(f) and 12(b). The college offers UG Programmes in eight branches of Engineering with a total intake of 900          (CSE, ECE, EEE, IT, MCT, MEC, CIVIL and MMT) and  Six branches of PG.

MGIT has 250 well qualified faculty members with 44 Ph.D holders, 70 faculty members registered for Ph.D with reputed Institutions and 163 qualified non teaching staff. The Institution was ranked among the best Engineering Colleges in the band of 150-200 by NIRF, MHRD in the year 2017. CSR-GHRDC rated MGIT as one of the top emerging engineering colleges of excellence from A.P. and Telangana at all Indian level. The Week Magazine has rated MGIT among top 100 engineering colleges in India. ISTE chapter of MGIT has been adjudged as the best chapter of A.P. for the year 2012. Ministry of steel, Government of India sanctioned “Ministry of Steel Chair Professor” to Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, MGIT. AICTE has funded the IIPC, RPS and EDC, MODROBS projects and also sanctioned grant in aid of organizing FDP programs. MGIT is accredited by TCS for campus placements. Many Multinational companies regularly visit MGIT for campus placements.

About the Department: M&H
Department of Mathematics & Humanities is equipped with the State-of-the-art laboratories, highly qualified, committed and dedicated faculty.  With more than a decade of experience in training students to acquire language and soft skills through Activity Based Teaching (ABT), this discipline is the backbone to the college supporting and coordinating with the Placement
Cell through finishing school for all the engineering graduates.

About the Seminar:
 Teaching is a lot like acting and requires teachers to act as role models. The Teacher as Performer is a role that can be very powerful. Yet many teachers resist this role. The reason could be because it a demanding role calling for high energy. Moreover, the performance aspect of teaching is something that is not included in training. This professional development Seminar aims to restructure ways teachers can identify teaching tools and tactics which can be integrated in the Classroom.

Meeting Description:

The Central Institute of Indian Languages in collaboration with the Linguistic Society of India is pleased to announce that the 40th International Conference of the Linguistic Society of India (ICOLSI-40) will take place from 5-7 December 2018 at CIIL, Mysore, India. 
This annual conference of LSI is the largest congregation of linguists in India. 

The Linguistic Society of India is a body of intellectuals working on languages and promotion of Linguistics. The society has been in existence since 1929 and has build a strong network of Linguistics scholars. LSI has become a household name among the linguists of this country. The society organises an annual conference attracting a wide range of participation from India and abroad. These events bring together generations of linguists. So far, the society has organised 39 events, and this one is the 40th edition of LSI event. Arguably, LSI events serve as a gateway to Linguistics for most Linguistics scholars in this country.

Call for Papers: 

Abstracts not exceeding 300 words are invited in all areas relevant to Theoretical and Applied Linguistics as well as allied disciplines. All submissions will go through the standard blind reviewing process. The authors of the selected abstracts would be asked to submit full papers.
